Feather Duster Worm

Worms don't normally win beauty pagents, but Feather Duster Worms would definitely be serious contenders if only they could move and they weren't quite so shy.

These worms hide in small holes under ledges with only their beautiful feathery gills exposed.

But they're not too easy to spot as the gills are covered in tiny eyes that detect you approaching. If they spot you coming the whole lot disappears down the hole closing the entrance with an umbrella. Bizarre doesn't even begin to describe these stunning little creatures.
