False Clownfish (Nemo)

We're not too sure if the film Finding Nemo was actually a true story. To our knowledge, no one has ever spotted a False Clownfish in Sydney. They probably have been here, we just haven't found them yet - the East Australian Current brings lots of tropical fish down from the Great Barrier Reef. We've seen other characters from the film such as Gill the Moorish Idol on plenty of occasions, so we're going to keep trying to find Nemo.

False Clownfish aren't actually clownfish at all (they're just closely related). But like clownfish they are all born male and turn female if the need arises. It's another reason why we think the film might not be true as Nemo's father doesn't change to become his mother.

As we failed to photograph a False Clownfish in the City of Sydney, we shot this one in Sydney Aquarium (which we'd like to point out is still technically in the City of Sydney).
